How AI storyboarding works
From a sentence to a board your crew can shoot from, in five steps.
- Describe your scene. Write in plain language: a logline, a story beat or a mood. No prompt engineering required.
- The AI reads the context. It takes in tone, genre, blocking and continuity across the whole sequence, not one frame at a time.
- Generate cinematic frames. You get composed shots with real lens language, lighting and camera intent, not random art.
- Refine the board. Change angles, swap lighting, lock characters and reorder panels on an infinite canvas.
- Share it with the crew. Export shot lists, PDFs and shareable boards your whole crew can review.
What you can direct
Camera, lighting, character and continuity controls, plus a Storyboard Studio workspace to run the work.
- AI storyboards: Turn a script into sequenced, camera-aware panels in minutes.
- Character consistency: Lock a character once and keep the same face across every frame.
- Camera angles: Wide, over-the-shoulder, low angle, dolly, crane: direct the lens with words.
- Lighting styles: From low-key noir to golden hour, applied consistently across shots.
- Scene variations: Explore different versions of a beat without losing your original.
- Shot lists: Generate a structured shot list from a finished board.
- Prompt library: Save, reuse and share the prompts that define your look.
- Storyboard Studio: Configuration, canvas and output in one workspace, with tabs and a library.

Built by a production company
Magical Works Production.ai is built by Magical Works Production s.r.o., the film and video production company behind this site. We make films, music videos and branded content, and storyboarding is part of our own pre-production: on narrative projects we storyboard the sequences with complex staging and shot-list everything.
The tool follows the rule we work by on set: AI is the assistant, not the artist. It turns your intent into frames shot by shot, and the creative decisions stay with the director.

Bring your own key (BYOK) on Solo Creator
BYOK means Magical Works Production.ai generates your storyboards through your own Google Cloud project instead of the platform's account. You connect a Vertex AI service account, generation is unlimited with no credit meter, and Google bills the model usage directly to you. The Solo Creator plan costs $30 a month after a 15-day free trial.
What you need
- A Google Cloud project with billing enabled
- The Vertex AI API turned on for that project, with enough quota
- A dedicated service account with only the Vertex AI permissions it needs, not your personal Google login or a project owner key
Set it up in five steps
- Start the Solo Creator trial. Choose Solo Creator on the Pricing or Billing page. Stripe starts a 15-day trial with no charge at signup.
- Prepare Google Cloud. Create or pick a Google Cloud project, enable billing and turn on the Vertex AI API.
- Create a service account. Use a dedicated service account with least-privilege Vertex AI access, and download its JSON key.
- Upload the key. In Billing → BYOK, enter your project ID and Vertex AI region (the default, global, is recommended for Gemini image models), then upload or paste the service account JSON.
- Validate and generate. Run the validation with Google, switch BYOK mode on and open the Generator. Your boards now run on your own project.
What you pay, and to whom
- Magical Works Production: $30 a month for Solo Creator after the 15-day trial, with no credit meter.
- Google: model, API, storage and network usage, billed directly to your Google Cloud project at Google's rates. The Solo Creator fee does not include these charges.
- Fair-use limits, such as concurrent boards and hourly creates, still apply.
How your key is handled
- Stored with envelope encryption, and encrypted in transit.
- Never shown back in the interface after upload.
- Used only for your own generations: not for the platform's workloads, other users or model training.
- Removable at any time from Billing. That deletes the stored copy; your Google Cloud project is unchanged.
- One service account can be linked to only one Magical Works Production.ai account.
If your key is invalid or revoked, your project runs out of quota, or your Google Cloud billing stops, generation requests fail until you fix it. The platform does not fall back to its own account.
Would you rather skip the Google Cloud setup? Studio runs on the platform's own Vertex account for $39 a month all-in, with unlimited generation.
Questions about Magical Works Production.ai
Who is Magical Works Production.ai for?
Directors, storyboard artists, producers, agencies and anyone who needs to visualise a film, commercial or music video before the shoot, whether to plan the day, pitch an idea or get a client's approval.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free is the starter plan after signup. It runs on platform keys with a small starter credit grant and includes the core Storyboard Studio (tabs, canvas and library), with tighter limits than the paid plans. You can upgrade at any time.
How much does Magical Works Production.ai cost?
Free costs nothing. Solo Creator is $30 a month after a 15-day free trial, with unlimited generation; model usage is billed by Google to your own Google Cloud account. Studio is $39 a month all-in, with unlimited generation and no Google Cloud setup. Enterprise is priced by the sales team and is built for teams, with five seats by default.
What does bring your own key (BYOK) mean on Solo Creator?
Solo Creator connects to your own Google Cloud project with the Vertex AI API enabled. Generation is unlimited with no Magical Works credit meter, and Google bills the model usage directly to your project. You upload a dedicated service-account key, which is stored encrypted and never displayed again after upload. You can delete it from Billing at any time; that removes only the stored copy, not your Google Cloud project.
What do I need to set up BYOK?
A Google Cloud project with billing enabled, the Vertex AI API turned on, and a dedicated service account with only the Vertex AI permissions it needs. In Billing → BYOK you enter the project ID and region, upload the service account's JSON key and validate it with Google. A setup walkthrough of about six minutes is available on magicalworksproduction.ai.
Who pays for generation on Solo Creator?
You pay Magical Works Production $30 a month after the 15-day trial, and Google bills model usage directly to your Google Cloud project. The Solo Creator fee does not include Google Cloud charges. If your key, quota or billing stops working, generation pauses; the platform does not switch to its own account.
What is the difference between Solo Creator and Studio?
Solo Creator ($30 a month) runs on your own Google Cloud billing, so Google charges model usage on top. Studio ($39 a month) runs on the platform's own Vertex account at one all-in price with no setup, and adds commercial and comic styles, more character references and workspace themes.
Can it keep the same character across shots?
Yes. Character consistency lets you lock a character once and keep the same face in every frame of a sequence, and scene continuity keeps the environment consistent from shot to shot.
Can I export a shot list or a PDF storyboard?
Yes. It can generate a structured shot list from a finished board and export boards as PDFs your crew can review. What each plan can export is listed in the plan comparison on the pricing page.
Does it generate video?
Not yet. Storyboarding is available today and video generation is on the roadmap. Boards are authored so they can be animated once video generation ships.
Can I switch plans if I picked the wrong one?
Yes, during the Solo Creator trial or within 48 hours after a paid plan starts. You confirm the switch first and the other subscription is cancelled immediately, so you are not billed twice. After that window, changes go through the billing portal.
Can Magical Works Production also produce my project?
Yes. Magical Works Production is a film and video production company in Ostrava. Beyond the board, our team covers writing and co-directing, editing, colour grading, sound and full productions in the Czech Republic.
